NBCUniversal's Spanish-language net on a roll with 'La Voz Kids' music competition series

Upfronts: Telemundo Sets 5 Telenovelas, Reality Skein from Ryan Seacrest Prods.

Telemundo, the Spanish-language broadcaster owned by NBCUniversal, said expected to launch five new primetime telenovelas, two daytime series, and renew “La Voz Kids” (pictured), a kids’ version of popular NBC show “The Voice,” for a second season.

Additionally, the network will produce “Superstar Showdown,” a new variety competition program in association with Ryan Seacrest Prods.

The new programs are listed below:

Telenovelas

“Dama y Obrero” features Ignacia, a young engineer who works in a large construction company owend by her boyfriend. She is caught between two men – the longtime boyfriend and a man she meets during a quick fling.

“La Impostora” is a romantic story with a touch of melodrama that follows the adventures of an aspiring actress who is hired to infiltrate a powerful family to discover a long-vanished son.

“Reina de Corazones” is set in Las Vegas and tells the story of Reina and Diego, a young couple madly in love and about to get married. The groom is fatally shot, and Reina finds herself five years into the future trying to put her life back together.

“Cameila la Tejana” is inspired by a song of the same name by the legendary Mexican regional band Los Tigres Del Norte. In the 1970s, Camelia vows to make a betraying lover pay after embarking down a criminal path.

“Santa Diabla” is about a woman who must decide between revenge or love after the loss of her husband.

Daytime

“Suelta la Sopa” is a daily celebrity-focused gossip series in which a team of paparazzi will deliver insider news and headlines. Digital and mobile content available round the clock.

“Entre Grandes Y Chicos” is a brand-new game show in which adults compete against kids in wacky role-reversal games to see what things are like from a different perspective.

Alternative

“Superstar Showdown” features two well-known music icons who go head to head in a battle royale. Each week, the artists will face off in four rounds of music-based games and sing-offs.
